Courageously Motivated: 5 Tips To Stay Courageously Motivated

Have you ever felt like life around you and within you was never going to change? Have you ever felt like giving up when life became too hard to handle? --- If your answer is yes, we get you!

When I was on my healing journey after domestic abuse, there were days I felt hopeless. My courage was in a dark place and so was my life.

What about you? Are you in need of a dose of courage today? If you are we've got you covered!

Courage Can Ignite Your Motivation!
Courage and motivation are the two driving forces needed to make life-enhancing changes. Personal change results from knowing exactly what you want to do and having an insatiable, burning desire to do what is necessary to make those changes happen. Igniting courage and motivation can help keep your dreams on track and become the power that keeps you going when you face diverse obstacles in life.

Therefore, the next time you are low on courage and motivation, activate the following 5 tips.

Tip #1 Get Visual:
Create a vision board and fill it with images of your desired goals. The career you desire that makes you come alive, the way you want your body to look and feel, the way you will feel speaking up for yourself and owning your space in your personal and professional life– whatever you can think of that gets your pulse racing add it to your vision board and place your board somewhere in your environment so you will see it every day.

Tip # 2 Get Angry:
If you want to change your life for the better then get angry about where you’re currently at in life. Having a blasé attitude towards change isn’t what’s needed to move forward, and it won’t create a strong desire within you to make necessary life adjustments. Therefore, ask yourself: “Why do I want to change?” Is it because you’re fed up with your debts? Does your job drive you crazy and you’re no longer fulfilled? Is your life dull and predictable? Are you sick and tired of doing and thinking the same thing week in and week out? If your answer is yes, then get angry about it and make up your mind to take action to make changes.

Tip #3 Get Out of Your Feelings:
Every day brings with it new challenges and potential setbacks. This is a part of life. Therefore, when you run into a barrier that gets in the way of your goals, don’t allow how you feel to set you back. Instead, step away from the barrier and assess the situation based on facts. Don’t ignore how you feel about the situation, feel, but keep moving at the same time.

Tip # 4 Change Your Narrative:
Limiting self-beliefs such as “I will never reach my goals”, “I am not smart enough”, “ I don’t have what it takes” can decrease your motivation and your expectations of yourself. Therefore, to stay motivated towards your goals, when these voices invade your mind, force them out with a new narrative that sounds like this. “ I am on my way to reaching my goals”, “ I am prepared and equipped to do what needs to be done to get to where I want to be in life”, “I am committed to learning what I need to learn to reach my goal”. By changing your internal narrative, you will change your behavior and your outcomes.

Tip # 5 Face Your Fears:
Fear is a paralyzing force that will attempt to stop you in your tracks and rob you of reaching your dreams. However, fear can only stop you if you allow it to. Therefore, when fear rears its ugly head, stare fear in the face and act by doing the very thing fear is telling you that you can’t do. If fear is telling you that you won’t get that job, applying for the job anyway. If fear tells you that you won’t lose weight this time, show up to the gym anyway. Action deters fear! Start acting now!

We’ve all Been There! If we are honest, at various times in our lives, we have all found ourselves in a motivation deficit. Life throws us unforeseen challenges, we lose relationships with people who we thought were our biggest supporters, we hear more no’s than yes’s and we start to doubt our talents, self-worth, and dreams. When this happens, keep in mind, that motivation looks different at different seasons of life. What motivated you in your 20’s and 30’s may have changed. Respect your current position in life and use the 5 tips we provided you with.

We hope these tips have encouraged you to ignite your courage!
